I finally got around to putting a proper release (1.1 beta2) of ploneflashupload on plone.org and plone4artists.org .
There's a big bug: on linux (at least ubuntu), the flash uploaded crashes firefox (at least the 2.x). Two colleagues reliably have that problem. Anyone with a bit of flash experience that could give me a hint? reinout@vanrees.org .

Could you add your findings to the issue tracker at plone4artists.org? Otherwise I or someone else is going to lose track of it.
I have a Plone 3.0.6 buildout with PloneFlashUpload 1.1 beta2.
I am using firefox 2.0.0.6 on Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn) and before I upgraded to flash 9.0.115 my browser would crash, as you detailed. Now I have upgraded and it works (thanks for the tip!)
I have a suggestion though: I get an error message (firefox, not plone) "Error. Error on uploading files" if I have a file in the directory I am trying to upload to with the same name. The only reason I know this is the reason is because I peeked in my instance.log, but it might be nice to let users who don't have permissions to view the instance.log that the error is very simple to solve :-) I'm not sure how non trivial it is to generate a different error message, since it's a browser message and not a plone message, but I thought I'd let you know anyway, just in case.
It's a great product and we're super happy to be using it on a plone 3 site already, so thanks!

Before that, Firefox would crash or not respond or simply not upload a file, depending on the fullness of the moon for all I know. ;-) Usually adding the first image/file *did* work.
