James Governor says How to Hire a Good Developer: Read Their Blog: No interview required . Through weblogs you can get a good feel for someone's qualities and, within margins, someone's character. That can save you a lot of hassles and job interviews.

It's true also the other way around. I think it is one of the big reasons why I got my current job . After the first interview I even put a good overview of my python/plone/zope experience up on my weblog. And I was able to tell them to just check out google. And point them to a few weblog posts. And some products here and there on sourceforge.

They probably did their googling themselves, too, before the first interview. Make sure you will be found by your future employer, I'm sure glad I could be found :-)
