Metacrap: metadata will be mostly crap¶

Cory Doctorow has an article (from 2001) about metadata. It's mostly crap. He gives (humorously) 7 reasons why it will be crap.

A possible solution is at the end of the article: observational metadata is far more reliable than the stuff that human beings create for the purposes of having their documents found.

Ok, now how to do this in the building industry?
