I managed to get tickets for the lord of the rings-marathon in december. I'm going there with Hage van Mourik who likes to make dresses (the info on the linked page is in Dutch only). She 's going to make Arwen's dress. Can't wait to see it finished!
Well, I'm planning to do something costume-like too. I've got a ready-made sword and shield from a previous occasion, so that much is ready. I'm thinking about a Boromir-like costume, but I'm a bit strapped for time. There are a lot of hints floating around on the internet, though, on how to make a good-looking costume without spending a lot of time and money.
This is, by the way, also a test on how quickly she'll show up in google
