New distribute release: use new zc.buildout to prevent recursion

Tags: python, buildout

In November people (and I) noticed infinite recursion problems when upgrading distribute. We found out the problem and I fixed it, see my buildout distribute recursion fixed post.

The fix has now been released as zc.buildout 1.4.3.

And…. there’s also a new 0.6.10 distribute release. As there’s a new release, suddenly your buildouts can start infinite recursing on distribute all of a sudden. If you see this there are two possible solutions:

  • Simply upgrade your globally installed distribute version.

  • Pin zc.buildout to 1.4.3.

Happy buildouting!
