CartogramsΒΆ

I like maps a lot, so I've had a lot of fun with the worldmapper collection of cartograms. Cartograms show the size of a country not according to area size, but increase or shrink it according to some other data, like number of tourists (France and Spain are big) or milk and cheese exports (that big country in the middle is the Netherlands :-) ).

Especially noticeable is container shipping, apparently ...there are more shipping containers loaded and unloaded off the coasts and rivers of China, than travel to or from all other territories put together. It is in China that more than three-quarters of this activity takes place.
