The Internet is a good medium for communication. Access is cheap and available to all, generic tools (like browsers) are freely available, almost everybody can use it. XML is an Internet technology that provides the possibility to use a vocabulary to tag information with nametags, giving meaning to the text that is communicated. A vocabulary has to be designed, which is a hard task. The next chapter therefore looks at three examples of how to accomplish that.
